Stewardship

Stewardship is an ethic that embodies the responsible planning and management of resources.

All Orthodox Christian parishioners are called upon to be stewards of the Faith and of the Church. Unlike membership dues, stewardship comprises offering time, talent and treasure to benefit the Church, parishioners and the local community. Stewardship by definition means the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care. God has entrusted the care of our beautiful Church to us.

One of the longstanding components of stewardship is tithing. For the purpose of healing the soul and pursuing salvation, our Lord has requested that we give 10% of our income back to Him. The money is not sent up to heaven, but spent so that heaven may be brought to us.
